This agreement applies as between you, the User of this Website and Abbey Botanicals, the owner(s) of this Website. Your agreement to comply with and be bound by these Terms and Conditions is deemed to occur upon your first use of the Website. If you do not agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, you should stop using the Website immediately.

No part of this Website is intended to constitute a contractual offer capable of acceptance. Your order constitutes a contractual offer and Our acceptance of that offer is deemed to occur upon Our sending a dispatch confirmation email to you indicating that your order has been fulfilled and is on its way to you.

When an order is placed; if paid for using a credit or debit card your card is authorised for the amount at checkout, but no payment is taken. If paying using your PayPal balance your payment is taken immediately at the time the order is received.

Payment by credit/debit card. The system checks all card information, registered card holder address, postal code, CVC security number and verified email address to reduce card fraud. Please make sure you enter all details accurately when paying by credit/debit card or your payment will be refused. We do not store credit card details nor do we share customer details with any 3rd parties.

When you order is processed we fulfil the order first, then take card payment prior to dispatch in case there are any shortages so that the payment taken matches the order amount. If payment was received by PayPal any refund due will be made prior to dispatch.

We endeavour to have sufficient stocks at all times but during peak periods i.e Christmas or Easter occasionally this is not possible due to cross platform selling. We are currently running at a 99.95% success rate on stock cover.

We process Standard orders in order of receipt and dispatch within 2-3 working days (excluding weekends). If an order is required urgently and the Express option chosen we will give priority processing to Express orders received. Orders received requesting Express delivery will be dispatched within 1 working day. A working day is Monday to Friday and excludes weekends and National Holidays.
Shipping & Delivery

We offer free standard shipping to all orders received for the United Kingdom

Standard Delivery

We currently offer Royal Mail Standard 2nd Class Small Packet delivery as our standard option which takes an average of 3-5 working days from the date of dispatch for delivery. All orders over 2.00kg packed weight will automatically be sent by UPS Standard.

Shipping costs include the price of the delivery method plus all packaging & handling.

Express Delivery

For more urgent orders we also have an Express option through our couriers Royal Mail Special Delivery up to 1.00kg packed weight and UPS Standard for orders over 1kg which takes an average of 1-2 working days from the date of dispatch for delivery. The Express option also includes full tracking which will be emailed to you upon dispatch.

Express delivery is available at a cost of £9.95

Shipping costs include the price of the delivery method plus all packaging & handling.

 Unsuccessful Deliveries

Both Royal Mail and our couriers have robust procedures in place to handle any deliveries that cannot be made.

Royal Mail:

If the parcel containing your order cannot be delivered by Royal Mail for any reason, a ‘While you were out’ card will be posted through your letterbox, containing details of where your parcel can be collected from.
You can use the card to contact Royal Mail online to arrange a re-delivery of your parcel to your home; or to your local post office (for a small fee).
You can also ask your regular postman to check if your parcel is at the depot for you.
Your parcel will be held at the depot for up to 15 days, after this time, your order will be returned to us and a refund issued excluding shipping costs (if applicable) in line with the Consumer Contract (Distance Selling) Regulations.

Please note: Royal Mail states that under normal circumstances it is estimated that 2nd Class shipments will take between 2-5 days for delivery, however this is only an estimate and not a guarantee and a package isn’t considered lost in transit until 15 days from dispatch has elapsed to take into consideration potential delays in the system. Currently here is no tracking with this service and  we cannot replace or resend goods before this time period has elapsed.


If the parcel containing your order cannot be delivered, the parcel will be returned to the depot. UPS will attempt to re-deliver the next working day. A card will also be issued with details of how you can re-arrange delivery if needed. If delivery cannot be made after two attempts, your parcel will be held at the depot for 3 working days and will then be returned to us.

If the parcel is returned to Abbey Botanicals by Royal Mail or by the courier,  all goods will be unpacked and returned to stock and your order refunded less shipping costs paid (if applicable).

Returns & Cancellations

We operate a no-quibble, 100% satisfaction guarantee.

If you are not 100% satisfied for any reason, or if you wish to exercise your rights of cancellation under the Consumer Contracts (Distance Selling) Regulations, please get in contact with us using phone or email to discuss the matter and/or arrange for a return.


Abbey Botanicals regrets that it cannot accept responsibility for abuse or misuse of any of the products contained in our electronic catalogue and supplied by Abbey Botanicals. We are suppliers of herbs for culinary, craft and cosmetic usage and our herbs are sold on the understanding that they are not to be used for self treatment of medical conditions.
