Orange peel is often added to enhance other flavours in desserts, gravies, sauces, and meat dishes. Dried orange peel can also be used as a garnish. It is a tasty addition to herbal tea blends. You can add dried orange peel as a kindling to start a BBQ, the fragrance from the fruit peel will lend its fragrance to meat and fish.

Dried orange peel is strongly aromatic with a pleasant sweet odour, but a bitter taste. It is capable of softening other taste impressions. Yet it is suited not only for fish but also for meat; especially the strong taste of innards are made more pleasant. careful dosage is essential. Orange peels are an ingredient in 5-spice powder in some regions in China

Add orange peels to dry pot pourri blends and to simmering pot pourri, they can also be added to bath teas. A decoction of the peels can be added to lotions, creams and shampoos. An infusion of the herb can be used to wash floors and surfaces.

In home brewing use in gin, spiced beer and meads, or add to plain wine such as apple to add a hint of the exotic and warm citrus tones. Goes great with ginger, coriander and cinnamon type flavours.
